The shrimp salad and crab cakes are delicious! With few enjoyable dining options in the area, Festival Eatery is a diamond in the rough. I visit 2-3 times a month and I'm always greeted with a smile by the cashier and she remembers that I usually order the shrimp salad.

I've never had a single issue with this place. The food is delicious, the service is quick, prices are reasonable, selection is great, and the staff is friendly (especially the cashier).

I was sent here by a Co-Worker and i was not disappointed. The Friday broiled Crab Cake was delicious!! The staff was beyond awesome!! The facility is a little dated, but who cares, your not getting married there. I will be back, thank you for having a clean restaurant with great staff.

This really is a good option among the lacking pick of restaurants in the area. Its simple, but made in front of you fresh. I had the BLT and fries and rice pudding - it was all good. The peanut butter cookies here are also really decent - one of the factors I use to judge places if they've made it there - pass! They also apparently make all their cakes from scratch except for the yellow cake with chocolate frosting (which she said is from a box, but they doctor it). I want to try the red velvet next - I've heard its really good. The people that work there are also really nice - will definitely be back.

Festival Eatery is an oasis amid the food desert of Woodlawn. You're not going there for a gourmet meal, you're going there because you probably work nearby and forgot to bring your lunch with you. Thankfully, Festival has a good selection of sandwiches and salads with an occasional platter type entree as well as rotating daily and weekly specials in their cafeteria style eatery. The Buffalo chicken salad in particular is a big winner, as is their Chesapeake club (crabcake topped with shrimp) and their chicken salad sandwich. Their breakfast selections are delicious and if you get a side of home fries you'll be full for most of the rest of the day. The staff there is excellent. Go there a second time and they'll remember you. Go there at least once a week and they'll treat you like an old friend each time. Plus there is something to be said for seeing your food grilled or fried up right in front of you. Great spot.

Why two stars, you ask?? They don't devein the shrimp they use in their shrimp salad. I couldn't believe my eyes when I paid extra to have some (what I hoped to be) delicious shrimp salad to adorn the top of my crab cake sandwich with, when...to my shock, dismay, and disgust...I saw the dark and "muddy" intestinal tract of the shrimp staring back at me. I knocked it off my crab cake (which was actually very tasty, which is why I did not give just one star) and have not been back since. I have never been to a restaurant that does not devein shrimp. Literally every chain restaurant you can think of uses deveined shrimp: Red Lobster, Chili's, Applebee's, Bertucci's, Carrabba's, Cracker Barrel, Logan's Roadhouse, On The Border, Pei Wei...the list goes on forever. Even Taco Bell's seasonal shrimp taco uses deveined shrimp. Why? Because no one wants to take a bite of shrimp that includes a taste of the animal's feces. Sounds gross, right? That's because it is.

Festival Eatery is definitely off the beaten path! The setup is similar to a cafeteria, with trays and a "lunch line" but believe me they are not serving up that mystery meat you had in the days of recess!! My mom works down the street from here, so every once and awhile we meet here for lunch. It's family owned and run, and every time we go the same staff is there so it has that nice local feel. They always have a board of daily specials by the door, and sometimes you can get something that's not on the menu. (Hint: pretzel rolls!! yumm!) The turkey melt on a pretzel roll is delicious and their shrimp salad is pretty tasty too. The homemade carrot cake over by the register is also a yummy treat!

Joe and Kim have ran this establishment for many years. When I was working nearby, I practically ate here every day. It's a nice clean cafeteria style eatery that serves some great home cooking. The salads are fresh and the crab soup is outstanding. My favorite fare was always the crab cake on a sub-roll and a side of crab soup. Joe uses generous amounts of crab meats and not a lot of filler. All can be had for under $10. It's a great bargain. When in season, he would also have soft-shelled crab sandwiches that are fantastic. Lightly breaded and deep-fried, they come out wonderfully crispy and you can taste all the flavor of the crab. The caesar salad with grilled chicken is also a popular choice. Our office would also order the pastry/bagels platter from here every friday. For well-prepared, good food that doesn't break the budget, you can't go wrong coming here.

Excellent deli located at a very busy intersection. Festival is located in a business complex, and I can't help believe that most of their business comes from the local offices. But lucky them, because they get to experience homemade EVERYTHING. No Sysco items on the menu. Everything made to order, and served very very quickly. Great place for a fast, hot and large breakfast. If you work in the area and don't go here, you are missing out on great food that won't empty your wallet.
